project description:
This exhibition featured nearly one hundred photographs by Annette Dragon documenting the brilliant and varied queer activism that flourished in Maine over the last two decades of the 20th century. This exhibition sought to revive and reexamine the histories depicted in her photographs in order to better understand the present and re-imagine our most fantastic queer futures. A fifty page photo-catalog with new writing on queer subjectivity and history in maine, a series of postcards, and an inter-generational panel on queer/trans activism and documentation accompanied the exhibition.
